Dr. Benn Doyle, DVM, is an experienced veterinarian and surgeon at Summit Dog and Cat Hospital. With decades of experience in small animal medicine and surgery, he brings extensive clinical knowledge and surgical expertise to the team. After a distinguished veterinary career, he returned to practice and joined the hospital in 2022 to continue providing surgical care for pets.
Earned his bachelor's degree in Biochemistry in 1980 and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1985.
Extensive experience in small animal medicine and surgery, including years at Westfield Veterinary Group.
Returned to veterinary practice as a surgeon, bringing decades of experience to the hospital.
VETERINARY SURGICAL EXPERTISE
Born and raised in Flemington, New Jersey, Dr. Benn Doyle developed a strong foundation in academics and athletics. He attended the University of Missouri on a swimming scholarship, earning his bachelor's degree in Biochemistry in 1980 and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree in 1985.
After completing his veterinary education, Dr. Doyle returned to New Jersey, where he built a career in small animal medicine and surgery. He practiced for decades before retiring from Westfield Veterinary Group in 2019. Following two years away from veterinary medicine, he was invited to return as a surgeon and joined Summit Dog and Cat Hospital in 2022.
Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Doyle enjoys an active and fulfilling lifestyle. He and his wife, Ann, share their home with three cats—Amelia, Phelpsie, and Caleb. A lifelong athlete, he continues to compete in masters swimming, enjoys skiing around the world, works on improving his golf game, and operates a firewood business.
Dr. Doyle's extensive professional background and continued involvement in veterinary surgery make him a valued member of the Summit Dog and Cat Hospital team.
