Referral-based veterinary support for eligible veterans and their pets, through participating veteran assistance organizations.
At Summit Dog and Cat Hospital, we understand that pets can be an important source of companionship, stability, and comfort.
Through participating veteran assistance programs, we provide veterinary support for eligible veterans and their pets when they are referred to us through a participating organization. This program is one way we can support veterans while caring for the animals who are part of their families.
Veterinary care for veterans is assistance provided through participating veteran organizations and referral programs. Depending on the organization and individual referral, eligible veterans may receive covered veterinary services and, when available through the program, pet food assistance.

If you’re a veteran looking for veterinary assistance, please begin with the veteran assistance organization currently helping you.
Ask whether it participates in a program that can refer you to Summit Dog and Cat Hospital.
If the organization establishes a referral, our team can work with them to understand the available benefits.
Your participating organization can contact Summit Dog and Cat Hospital at (908) 273-2200.
This program is referral-based. We do not offer free veterinary care to the general public, and simply being a veteran does not automatically qualify someone for complimentary veterinary services. If you already have a referral, your participating organization can contact Summit Dog and Cat Hospital at (908) 273-2200.
We’re grateful to the veterans who have served our country, and we’re honored when our hospital can play a role in helping care for the pets who are part of their families. If your veteran assistance organization refers you to us, our team will work with the organization to understand your available benefits and provide appropriate veterinary care for your pet.
